Putting the finishing touches on ORIGINS OR WHATEVER (due out in April).
This’ll be the back cover, and it features each issue of NLC released so far.*
I thought it’s kind of cool, so I’m posting it here too.

I’m in the middle of re-lettering all nine parts of the Night Light Comics ORIGINS stories.   Using “comic sans”, but whatever. At least you’ll be able to read it easier than my shitty hand writing, and the words’ll be spell checked.
“Words’ll” isn’t a word according to my spell check by the way, but I’m using it anyways, and therefore still cannot guaranty spelling perfection.
ORIGINS OR WHATEVER will be available at this year’s C2E2.More info later.

UPDATE: Due to negative/correct feedback on me using “comic sans”, I made my own font. It’s working out pretty well. Uploaded an updated version.

PUB TRIVIA poster art.
Everything you need to know about this is pretty much there.
But I have to mention that Riverwest Public House has Milwaukee’s absolute BEST Bloody Marys deal in town.  Every Sunday —$4 for the BM AND pint chaser (usually RW Stein)!! It’s ridiculously amazing and you cannot beat that price.

Nothing super exciting to look at, but here’s the pencils for the next issue of Night Light Comics, due out in April, just in time for C2E2.
It’ll collect all nine ORIGINS short stories which ran in BUZZPOP #2-4 and show how the whole Night Light gang got together. Something like that.
So it won’t exactly be “new” material, but things’ll be touched up, and it might come with some bonus stuff.
More to come…

2007 flashback. This old Valentine features Mars —a space babe who appeared in only one issue of Night Light Comics, MARS #1.
It was all action, and no dialogue, so it was always a tough sell at the table since people could “read” it in 10 seconds if they really wanted. It was one of my personal favorites though, and I have some ideas for doing some more with Mars in the future. All the issues of MARS #1 are sold out by the way. Because it was awesome.
Happy V.D.

Great song. (I think “Amoeba” is my favorite Adolescents song though.) Enjoy! And stop having kids, everybody! Thank you!

crap-o-rama:

If I ever give birth this will be played in the delivery room…

Above is a sketch of Spider-Man by me (awesome guy). Below is a quote about Spider-Man by Marc Webb (director of the new movie).
“There’s a punk rock quality to Peter Parker…”
Now, I remember when the Dark Knight came out, they kept marketing the Joker as being “punk rock” this and “punk rock” that. So I guess, according to Hollywood or whatever, Spider-Man AND the Joker are both “punk rock”.
Sure. Why not.

2009 Flashback
This used to be on the main page of my shitty website.
It’s got Kim on the left there —back before I decided to put her in a costume, and Max on the right —as “the Trenchcoat”, before I gave him a new costume and name, “Yellow Jacket”.

DADS “Sorry I’m Not Jon Hamm”

Here’s a video from the other night at Quarters. It’s about not being Jon Hamm and why our wives should love us for who we are. Stand up for Male Rights! It’s serious.

And add Dads to the things you like on Facebook here. But only if you like us. No liars allowed.

I met Mike and Laura Allred a few years ago at Wizard Chicago, and as awesome as it was, it was also fucking horrible —but it was my fault. They say sometimes it’s better to not meet your idols, and this was totally the case.
I shut down. I got super nervous. I said weird and awkward stuff. And I know at one point Mike caught me staring at them. Just staring.
For the record, they were both totally cool and they handled themselves just fine as the fan-dork gushed from across the table. Laura was very understanding and even invited me to hang out on the side to talk more.
Anyways, I’m a huge Madman fan, but more importantly I’m a fan of Mike’s retro-pop-comic art, and Laura’s best-palette-in-comics-colors. This panel from iZombie, for example. Super cool.

Had a very productive day today. Didn’t get to read as much as I wanted (current book: Lost City of Z), but I got four pages penciled (not inked) for EGYPTIAN SHUMBA.
(Click on the image, and click it again on the deviantArt page for a larger version.)
And then I paged through the remaining script and realized how much shit I have to do still.
