(Above: what an asshole)
So after a few years off, it was nice to be back in Chicago (*ahem* Rosemont). Wizard World Chicago was the first convention I ever did (back in 2004), and a lot's changed since then. And honestly, I don't know if I'll be back next year. WHOA! Don't get me wrong --it was a blast --there was a bunch of cool shit, awesome costumes, and I met some great new people... But I'm getting the feeling that new-comer-con C2E2 is the place to be..?
With all the publishers being at C2E2 (except Top Shelf, I guess) and having 'guests' like Rod Blagojevich at Wizard... um, yeah.
But anyways...
Thanks to everyone who stopped by the table and picked up some comics or music or artwork. Much appreciated! Always.
For those of you who dug BUZZPOP, just know it'll be a little while before I'll have a new issue or anything --as I'm working on the first 'big story' for the team-- but there'll be little things here or there so sit tight.
I guess that's it pretty much. Time for another Party Water Sour anyway (Jim Beam Rye and Squirt (try it, you'll like it)) so --until next time!
PS- if I did a sketch for you and you can get a scan of it please send it to

Here's a pin-up of my buddy Danno Klonowski's characters, Fleming Hazmat, Betsy Rossbot, and Atlantis Lad. They're from his comics MANLY TALES OF COWARDICE, and you should check it out cause it's pretty good stuff says Me.

Here's the pencils I worked out at last night's Drink and Draw (photoshopped so you can kinda see em). It's Ramona Flowers, and I had to draw something Scott Pilgrim related because right before D&D I saw the movie, and it was amazing.
AMAZING.
I came late into the game of SCOTT PILGRIM, reading it for the first time only like three years ago, but once I did I was hooked (and jealous I'll never come up with something as cleaver, and funny, and just all-round-awesome). And now with the movie --under the direction of Edgar Wright-- being what it is... it kinda leaves me at a loss for words. The trailers don't do it justice and don't bother reading reviews, good or bad --just go see it.
And see it in the theater, not at home on yer computer in six months.
It's easily one of the best movie's I've ever seen/will ever see, and even if you think it's only okay, there's no denying that you've never seen anything else like it. So kudos to Bryan Lee O Malley on making one of the coolest comic creations ever, and to Edgar Wright for doing the impossible by bringing those creations to life in a way that no one else could have.

UPDATE: I saw the movie again last night, and might (might!) go again today. It's like a drug right now that I can't stop taking. Haven't geeked out on something like this is a while and it rules. Here's an inked and maybe final-colored version. I'll have prints of these at Chicago Comic Con.

Daily sketchbook entries posted on the NLC Facebook page. I think you'd "like" it (haw!). Maybe posting here later, but not right now. And I'm really gonna try to stick to it longer than a month this time...

1) DRINK & DRAW at BYO Studio:

*Become friends with the Drink & Draw MKE chapter on Facebook.
2) ROCK'N'ROLLER REMOTE CONTROLLER episode 3 Premiere Party @ Linneman's:

*Check out the first two episodes HERE because it's the best show you're not watching!
I will be at both of these, D&D first and RRRC after. It's also the day that the SCOTT PILGRIM movie comes out (which I hope will be good, but for the record, don't think should be live action) so there's a lotta stuff to do this day. If you're like me at least.
